Queer Mama’s website needed clearer branding and more accessible info, especially about their needs as a non-profit. We’ve updated the UX to tackle these issues, with the donation button placed strategically to maximize fundraising. We’ve also transformed the UI to feel like the warm, welcoming hug of, well, a queer mama.

Sugar Mamas was a 12 h fundraiser representing the communities that Queer Mama supports. This was split into three parts: A gallery & art auction, with earnings split between Queer Mama and the artists. Performances from shibari to drag, engaging with the audience & encouraging donations. Five DJs from different collectives to showcase the diversity of the scene. This format drew in crowds from every color of the rainbow and by far exceeded our donation expectations.

Queer Mama’s essence was translated to fit both the digital and real world without compromising either. We sharpened their image and solved their practical problems. Most importantly, we brought together corners of the queer world in a fundraiser whose incredible success was a good omen about Queer Mama’s future.
