For their 20-year milestone, XPOSED wanted their online presence to feel more personal, & highlight their experimental & community-driven side.

We came up with content for each area & proposed it to XPOSED with the aim of humanizing the festival:

  • New photo portraits of the XPOSED team

Pre-production & research

Setting the Scene

Researched the festival’s history to understand that world and the curators’ background. Market research showed that few festivals featured their curators talking about their process, so that become our focus.

Content was then scripted, followed by set design & composition.

Interviews & retrospective video

Putting a Face to the Name

To feature XPOSED’s curators, we produced documentary-style interviews and a retrospective film. The retrospective, combining archival material and visual storytelling, showcased the two decades of XPOSED’s evolution. For our storytelling to match the new branding, we oversaturated the colors, reflecting the concept of inner light.

Photos & social media

 Getting the Word Out

Developed a stream of digital content alongside the larger productions, such as reels, promotional edits, & teasers for this year’s screenings. The Meerkats also took portrait photos of the XPOSED team to further shine a light on them.

Conclusion

XPOSED: Zhuzhed Up

The festival now has a brand-new identity showcasing the humans behind it and the diversity of their artistic perspectives. Supporting it is a system of audiovisual stories ready to be deployed anywhere.
